I’d like to start by introducing myself. My name is Charles, and I’ve been in love with this craft since I was five years old. I still remember my first proper experience in a professional barber shop. It was more than just the result of the cut, but the experience; the way I felt before, during and after the service is what I remember most. As far as my journey from being in the chair, to behind the chair, that began in 2011, and ever since I have not been able to let the profession go. This profession to me encompasses more than just hair, but overall style and care. Hence the “Valet”. In the past a Valet was assigned to serve the eldest son of wealthy families, helping him present himself in a handsome manor on all occasions. This type of personalized service and care is what The Valet Barber aims to bring to the modern world. I’ve always felt that our hairstyles and attire are personal expressions of our character, that when presented with care allow us to be and feel our best. The goal is to merge the two concepts, creating a space of elevated service and care, that is also approachable and accessible.
